TRADITIONAL FLORISSANT FALL FESTIVAL CANCELED FOR 2020
Florissant Old Town Partners Board of Directors announced today that they are canceling the 2020 Fall Festival held the second Sunday in October each year (October 11, 2020). This 22 year old family friendly festival typically includes activities for all age groups. The festival traditionally draws between 10,000 and 30,000 attendees to its events. Attendees enjoy a variety of food, music and experiences while wandering the beautiful streets and shops of the Florissant Old Town area.
Board President, Christine Keil, said the decision was made because “the health and safety of the community is paramount. We discussed ways we could still hold it but, in the end, realized that anything less than our best would be a detriment to the community and festival.”
Christine also expressed hope that Old Town Partners and the community could still celebrate the season while at home. “We are working on creating a stay-at-home pumpkin decorating, outside fall decorations and/or a virtual chili contest. She encouraged interested citizens to check the Facebook page for announcements.
Old Town Partners extends its thanks to the City of Florissant, the Fall Festival committee, its sponsors, shops, and restaurants for their participation in the event year after year. Planning will begin soon for the 2021 festival and volunteers are welcome to contact he OTP office at 314-837-0033.
